Zijerveld

Zijerveld has a history of over a century in cheese production, of which they are very proud. The company's roots date back to the beginning of the last century when Zijerveld was one of hundreds of wholesale cheese sellers in the Netherlands. Over time, this number decreased due to centralization and specialization, but Zijerveld chose a different path of development and achieved success based on experience, dedication, and vision. These values are put into practice by the company every day.

Zijerveld brought together the best cheese factories in the world into one company. In 1989, the Dutch cheese production expert Zijerveld combined his knowledge with a foreign cheese maker Gebroeders Veldhuyzen. Under the name Zijerveld & Veldhuyzen, the company was able to improve its service to its customers and expand into the retail sector after ten years.

In the 1990s, the company began to grow rapidly, opening new warehouses and factories, which allowed it to become a leading player in the European cheese market. In 2000, the company joined a group of companies and became part of the international "Cheese Partners" conglomerate.

In 2013, FrieslandCampina acquired Zijerveld, which was a strategic move in creating an autonomous position within the group. Nevertheless, Zijerveld continues to operate under its own brand.

Today, Zijerveld specializes in producing and supplying various types of cheese, such as Gouda, Edam, Gruyere, Brie, and many others, known for their high quality and unique taste. The company engages in both the production of its own brands and the sale of cheeses under other brands, as well as exporting products abroad. With its headquarters in Bergambacht and dozens of warehouses and factories throughout Europe, Zijerveld continues to expand its business and maintain its high product quality standards.
