About brand
“Džiugas”
Džiugas is a Lithuanian cheese made from high-fat milk. This cheese has a deep historical and cultural heritage in Lithuania.
The Džiugas brand was established in 1924 when a cooperative was founded in Šilutė. The cheese was produced from the milk of farms in Žemaitija (one of the ethnographic regions of Lithuania) - Telšiai.
In the early years, production was small, but due to its great success and popularity among the local population, production grew. The cooperative evolved into the modern company Džiugas, which specializes in the production of various cheeses exported worldwide.
In the 1990s and 2000s, the Džiugas company received numerous awards at various exhibitions and competitions, including in Lithuania (1998, 2009), Belgium (2011), and Germany (2011).
Today, Džiugas is one of the most well-known brands of Lithuanian cheeses, recognized not only in Lithuania but also in many countries around the world. The company continues to develop and produce high-quality cheeses, preserving their unique taste and aroma, which have become its hallmark.
